Recycling

We have volunteers being trained in re-painting and decorating wooden furniture.

The Project is able to recycle items to include wardrobes, chest of drawers, tables & chairs many are which are decorated and/or re-used to provide alternatives items, such as bookcases, shelf units. This provides training opportunities for many including individuals with learning disabilities, young people, etc as well as providing a 'new life' for old furniture.

We accept electrical appliances in working order, but do not collect computer equipment. Our electrical department perform a full safety test on all items donated.

We regularly liaise with the Trading Standards Department in order to ensure the Project fully meets the strict safety standards.

Items including stained, marked, or ripped beds and upholstery regretfully cannot be accepted. Other items not accepted include furniture containing woodworm, gas appliances, electrical items in need of major repair or in a rusty condition, and upholstered goods which do not meet the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988.

Although we are able to carry out some minor repairs to both furniture & electrical items, we do have limitations due to space.

Goods left outside in wet weather, will also regretfully be rejected.

Regretfully we are unable to accept exceptionally large heavy items due to the risks to our drivers associated with Health & Safety parameters.

Delivery of items is to the customer’s front door. However, it is at the driver’s discretion to occasionally assist in upstairs delivery.

Please note: Customers should be aware that the Project accepts NO LIABILITY for damage to customer’s property as a result of delivery of goods.
